Sure, more explosiveness can lead to more rebounds, faster breaks, and more athleticism. And those are all great.
But let's be honest - that's not why you're here, is it?
You're here because you want to be able to jump A LOT higher.

But first, let me tell you a quick story.
I was an average athlete at best for most of high school. I could never do anything exciting with a ball. But when I watched the 2000 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest and watched Vince Carter do a 360 windmill against the grain dunk from a drop step I became obsessed with being able to dunk.
I spent the rest of the year trying to improve my vertical with all kinds of training programs including AIr Alert and Strength Shoes. And yeah, I gained a couple inches... but nothing impressive. My results had stalled.
I felt like I was stuck with a mid 20's inch vertical forever.
When one of the guys at school (who of course had a natural 40" vertical) heard that I was training my vertical he tried to embarass me in front of the entire class "hey let's see your ups".
I was on the spot... so with everyone watching, I jumped from under the rim... and missed completely.
I fell to the ground and everyone laughed. I was so embarassed. I even made some excuse about how I hadn't even warmed up yet... but I knew it didn't matter. My vertical sucked.

It's like you can see yourself rising to the rim or over the net but then when you jump, it feels like you weight a ton.
I watched other guys dunk and it looked like the laws of gravity didn't apply to them.
I dove back in and read every scientific study and book on training explosiveness I could get my hands on. I needed to know why I was different than these other guys and how to even the playing field.
Over the next year I learned everything I could and walked onto my Division II college track & field team as a triple and long jumper. I had no idea how much trouble I was in.
I thought I was an ok athlete until I saw what a real, All-American athlete was capable of. I watched and learned everything I could from these guys but if you've ever been in sport you know there's a lag between learning and being able to do it yourself.
Little did I know the most embarassing day
of my athletic life was ahead of me
(As a background, the average guy should be able to jump about 10 feet farther (3m) than the average girl in the triple jump at the university, NCAA Div II level. Even the world records are about 10 feet apart.)
At one of the first indoor competitions my college freshman year, I had a particularly bad performance so I cheered on my teammates as they competed.
As the finals rolled around I watched to my horror as one of my female teammates jumped farther than me... twice. (remember: 10 feet)
Now I don't want you to think I'm sexist, it's just a fact that men are physically stronger...
She was gracious about her performance, but a guy and a girl on my squad walked over to me, trying hard to hide the smirks on their faces... and they started to snicker.
I was mortified.
I'd never been more disappointed in myself and I felt like a complete joke.
It was at that precise moment that I decided that I had to make something work.
I didn't realize it at the moment, but that competition was a turning point that completely changed my life, how I went about training, and how I went about getting what I wanted.
Over the course of the rest of that season I looked at what all the training programs had in common, what all of them seemed to miss and what the studies were showing that weren't reflected in the vertical programs available at the time.
I mean, I knew that all programs worked for some people for at least a few weeks. But none of them worked for most or all athletes, most specifically me, and none of them seemed to address all the areas I knew the human body needed in order to fully develop explosively.
I knew from experience that ALL these programs failed to address at least a couple aspects.
One worked if you were naturally strong but did nothing if for the skinny, reactive guy. And another method worked great for the snappy athlete but was worthless to me (a naturally strong guy).
And it seemed that none of them properly addressed a few key areas: Form training, real nutrition, and true customization based on your body's natural strengths and weaknesses.

It doesn't matter if you've tried bad programs in the past... if you've been promised incredible results and failed... or if you're stuck doing the same repetitive drills without results for months!
It's Not Your Fault!
For the most part, the information online today is just recycled garbage that the authors don't even know is wrong because they've never actually trained with the methods themselves...
...OR WORSE, they don't base their training protocols on proven scientific studies... just intuition and follow the leader.
If you're going to use someone's training advice, you better make sure they did more than copy free material and release it as a "new and groundbreaking" training program...
...and there is no pill that will unlock your vertical leap.
No supplement is going to instantly release the LeBron James in you.. trust me, I wish it were true but it's just not.
Building a dominating vertical takes hard work and patience... anyone trying to sell you a shortcut is bending the truth or outright lying to you.
